Readers' Choice Awards 2018The Loren at Pink Beach has quickly become the hot place to stay in Bermuda since opening in 2017. The suites are drop-dead gorgeous and kitted out with all the modern amenities you’d expect from a place like this. Marble bathrooms have freestanding tubs, rain showers, and Malin+Goetz toiletries; bedrooms feature crisp white linens, driftwood finish floors, and a pleasant gray palette; and spacious outdoor balconies allow gorgeous ocean panoramas to pour into each sunlit room. Located near Tucker’s Town on the island’s east end, the hotel is about a 10-minute ride from the airport. It’s also a stone’s throw from two of the island’s top golf courses—Tucker’s Point Golf Course and the Mid Ocean Club, both of which are world-class—so if hitting the links is on your agenda, you’ll be well-positioned to make an early tee time.

These days it’s simply called "the Princess"—once inside you’ll see her crown jewels sparkle. The Princess is located in the heart of Hamilton, a five-minute walk to shops, restaurants, and attractions. Thanks to its glittering new makeover, it’s also attracting an entirely new demographic: babymooners seeking a vacation, middle-aged couple, and families—that new pool and beach club are great spots to let the kiddos blow off some steam.

Nearly 10 years later the bar was raised yet again, thanks to a $25 million renovation of the guest rooms and public spaces. It's now got a handsome new look, a handful of just-built additions, and a bevy of resort-wide upgrades. Expect all the bells and whistles of a full-service luxury stay: A Robert Rulewich–designed, championship-caliber golf course; several swimming pools (some for adults only, others just for kids); a brand-new state-of-the-art fitness center; a full-service Sense Spa; tennis courts; a kids' club; and a private beach that will keep you drooling for days.

Hot List 2023 Readers' Choice Awards 2017, 2018, 2019, 2023Bermuda is generally divided into two parts, east and west, with the capital of Hamilton somewhat in the middle. Most luxury resorts reside in Hamilton or on the east end, but this historic hotel is found on the quieter west end. It completed a full revamp in 2023 that brought the resort’s iconic pink cottages, four bars and restaurants, two-tiered pool, and expansive grounds that include four private beaches have been brought into the 21st century—no small feat since some architectural details date back to the 1600s. The 86 cottages are newly chic, with a tropical-inspired coral and seafoam green color palette, dark wood statement beds, quirky rattan chairs, and boldly patterned textiles. Vintage-inspired pastel-colored scalloped umbrellas and cushy lounge chairs now populate the refurbished pool area and its accompanying bar and restaurant, which also sports a magnificently detailed shell-encrusted back bar. A highlight is the brand-new Sunken Harbor Club (an outpost of the same-named Brooklyn bar), which is decorated with shipwreck treasures rescued by the late Bermudian diving legend Teddy Tucker. Bermudian-rooted cuisine is on offer, with dishes like shark hash and plantain-stuffed wild boar to complement classic island cocktails and new creations by barmaster St. John Frizell.

Thompson, a wealthy businessman who named the property after his son, Robert Rosedon Thompson. It was converted into a boutique hotel in the 1930s and has changed ownership several times since, but the mansion still boasts much of its old-school charm. Now a luxurious Relais & Chateaux property, the hotel features all of the elegant touches of a monied estate, including Waterford crystal chandeliers, antique-style furniture, and crown moldings galore. $$Pompano Beach Club, a family-run Southampton resort, has one of the most unique beachfronts of any resort in Bermuda—one where you’ll likely spend the bulk of your time during your stay, thanks to a massive sand bar located directly off its coastline. At low tide, this is where you can walk nearly 200 yards in knee-to-chest-deep water—which, by the way, is perfectly still and clear as gin. If you’re lucky, you’ll also spot the fish that give this hotel the other part of its name: blueish-green pompano that call these sand flats home. It's a sprawling, cliffside property where ocean views abound and intergenerational families embrace its all-inclusive ease. They like that it's on the far west end of Southampton, next door to the Port Royal Golf Course.
