Our story
Opened in 2007, Tukul Village is located just a 10-15 minute walk downhill from most of the major rock-hewn churches and consists of twelve red sandstone Tukul huts, each topped with a thatched roof and split into two storeys, offering 24 en suite rooms. The hotel is well-known for its concepted architecture, which is a replica of the two-story traditional tukuls unique for Lalibela, see images below. In fact our previous guests call it Too Cool Village!
Our philosophy is to give the best service out of the twelve tukuls and 24 rooms we have today. To always maintain and give the utmost attention to quality. We don’t believe in building as many rooms as possible and filling them with as many tourists as possible. We believe good reputation is an asset!
